Behind the Calm: What Sets These Underwater Paintings Apart

  • Curious about how I layer paint for depth?

  • Not sure how to care for your artwork once it arrives?

A framed painting of a man and a girl swimming in a lake, with trees and clouds in the background, hangs on a beige wall above a wooden sideboard with decorative vases, bowls, and a black table lamp.
  • Every Serene Swimmer painting begins with water—not just as a subject, but as a metaphor. I use MidJourney AI and my own underwater photography to create reference images that express mood, stillness, and light. After projecting and sketching the image on canvas, I paint slowly in layered acrylics, building depth and calm one transparent wash at a time.

  • Painted on gallery-wrapped canvas using professional acrylics, each piece is built up in both transparent and opaque layers for luminosity and depth. Once complete, I seal the work with a Golden isolation coat and archival Liquitex Satin Varnish—UV-resistant, non-yellowing, and water-safe—ensuring the piece lasts for decades.

  • Paintings arrive ready to hang with finished edges. For those who prefer framing, talk to a local framer or I can recommend one.

  • To keep your painting looking its best:

    • Dust with a soft microfiber cloth

    • Avoid direct sunlight or humidity

    • Do not use water or cleaning sprays.

Thanks to professional varnishing, your artwork is protected from fading, moisture, and surface wear.

  • Paintings are shipped safely and fully tracked within Canada and internationally. Local pickup is also available in Alberta. All work is packaged with great care to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.

  • “My painting transforms my space—it’s the first thing I see when I walk in, and it instantly calms me.”

Collectors describe these works as “transformative,” “peaceful,” and “a source of quiet joy” in their homes.
